When Tom first came in for his volunteer interview, he said he wanted to do something outside of his comfort zone. He works in a very independent job and wanted to volunteer somewhere more people oriented. We found a perfect fit for him at our front desk, and he started coming twice a week to assist our clients and donors. 6 months and 165 hours later, Tom is stepping away to prepare for some life transitions. When our Community Engagement Manager announced his departure at a staff meeting everyone shouted "No!" in unison. Losing Tom is losing a valuable asset to our team. This program has been central to our belief that doing good, works and aims to address systemic barriers to employee success and economic mobility with support services like on-site subsidized childcare, transportation, second chance hiring, and apprenticeship programs. ✂️This ribbon cutting is only the beginning... Today we celebrated opening our newest Permanent Supportive Housing project, the Chandler Pump Apartments. Thank you to everyone who joined us for presentations, tours, and the ribbon-cutting on this rainy day! 13 households experiencing literal homelessness will soon move into their brand-new apartments and begin receiving individualized case management. We are so grateful for the talents of our project team, the dedication of our donors, and the continued support from our community partners. We wouldn't have been able to do this without you.💙 We have so much we want to share with you about this project, stay tuned to our blog for more information.

Our year is off to an amazing start with the kickoff of our first BizMix at Willis Dady! ❄️ Despite the snow, our members and businesses braved the weather for an evening filled with fantastic networking and insights into the incredible work this organization does for the community.
